Quotes from me to you: Releasing control and trusting yourself.
Sometimes I am presented with little bits of wisdom that I need, not just once but multiple times — & when a message I need to hear repeats itself, I share it.
Whether you are just trying to reach a goal or navigate your anxiety, most of the stress around a situation comes from the unknown (even though our stressed out / anxious brain will be CERTAIN it can predict the future). The reality is that we can not be sure of a certain outcome, and we definitely can’t always control it.
So today’s blog is simple.
Here are a few blurbs from podcasts / books that really stuck with me and helped me through some increased stress the last couple of weeks!

“What can ever prepare you for something like that? There’s no manual. There’s no rulebook. You just do it. You put aside your fears. You tell yourself nothing is going to stop you. A night like that is no different from any mountain you know you have to climb, so you lace up your boots and you climb the mountain. You learn from the experience of doing it. When the next mountain appears, you’re a little better, a little sharper, a little more practiced at making your way to the top.”
“… You did it. You made it to the other side. And today, you’re not only sane, you’re stronger, wiser, and more confident.”
-Gisele Bündchen
“Dropping the rope is accepting uncertainty. Accepting uncertainty is throwing away the gun and letting the tiger come if he wants to.”
“Looking deeper we could say that the real cause of suffering is not being able to tolerate uncertainty; and thinking that it’s perfectly sane, perfectly normal to deny the fundamental groundlessness of being human…” - Pema Chodron

Whatever you are struggling with in life right now, it’s so important to remember that we may not always be able to control the emotions / feelings / sensations that come up, but we can always release the need to control a situation and surrender to a trust in ourselves — A trust that whatever comes up, whatever we have experienced or are going to experience, we can handle. Each time with more grace, with more wisdom, with more strength and with more confidence.
